Fultz Fourth 2013

Happy Independence Day!

Truth be told..I was almost in tears at the beginning of the day...
Not many things to do with our current status,
No fireworks.
No special meals.
Nada.

But, as we got out and went to the park to "find" ducks to feed, I felt a sense of peace come over me.  There were no ducks, and it brought BIG tears to my Maya's eyes, but that was okay.

We came home, greeted Daddy who had been sleeping in preparation for his 4th 12 (I call them 13) hour shift at the hospital this week.  This is his second job...as he strives to make a better way for us, like any good Daddy does.

We said hello, the girls cuddled him, they bathed...assuring I didn't wash off their painted starts from their faces, and in a matter of hours the little ones were ready for bed.

The boys stayed up and walked outside with me as we watched distant fireworks across the little town we reside in.  We oooed and awed. and made a little friend who was a few doors down oooing and awing as well.  I talked to the boys about why we celebrate the 4th of July...

And when we gathered inside at nights end, I read to them most of The Declaration of Independence.  They were unaware of any of it prior to my discussion with them.  I testified of the Nation we have been given and how we are to defend our rights to Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness at all Costs...because they have been bestowed upon us by our Creator...yes, by God!

I adored their questions regarding who we fought, what the 13 colonies were, etc....
all because I took the time to teach them why we celebrate this sacred day.

I LOVE our Nation...I LOVE The One and True God who gave it to us as a gift.

I had a few options when all the kids went to bed...play with a new eye technique, quilt, watch TV...and the list goes on.
I did what you see below and call it my elfy look!!!
I need to start a fashion blog!
