It's amazing the experiences you can have at a park on any given day. I was talking with a woman one day who mentioned a fun jump place in our area. I had said, "Oh thanks for that information, I have a child turning 8 soon, and that's a very special Birthday for us because we will baptize him in our faith, so it would be fun to do something special for him as well!"
To the lady's right, a man spoke around her, calling out, "What ward are you in?"
I had to laugh...in our area, it is quite uncommon to run into another Mormon at the park at just the time that you are there!

Seems we met for a reason though. My husband and he spoke while I dealt with tired children. They have just moved here and are having a terribly hard time integrating in the ward. It was good to have a family that can say, "We know how you feel...keep pressing on Brother!" And he so gracefully even called my husband Brother as we said our goodbyes! Such a great faith, such a true faith, and such a sweet reminder that the Lord sends people into our lives precisely when we or they need help!
Our number one family time activity is the park
1. It's cheap
2. It's fun in the sun
and
3. There is always a half price sonic drink afterwards!
On this day Maya couldn't get high enough! Between her cries of fatigue, she was screaming "I can't get high enough!" We were dumbfounded as her tiny 2 1/2 year old body was abut to fly off the swing!
The boys amazed me with their monkey bar skills. I vividly remember being a child and wondering how in the world the adults thought we were so amazing. I mean, arms and legs are meant to hang, run, and play! Right? Now, as I am much older, I do understand that state of mind which boggled me as a child. every time I start o allow my body to hang from a monkey bar, I feel my shoulder start to detach from it's joint (exaggerated, I know)!
According to America Ninja Warriors, I believe part of the key to doing arm activities right is by bending the elbows to conserve energy! I'll have to try that...after I've lifted weights daily for a full year!
