You do what?

It's time I admit it. I quilt! I know it isn't a very manly thing to do, but I actually have come to enjoy it. I made my first little rag quilt for Shane and after he died it brought a lot of relief. I have cut and sewn a couple of pieced quilts and made some rag quilts too. I made quilt top for Lydia's crib this past summer after we found out Crystal was pregnant. It isn't done yet because Crystal is doing some applique for me on it. She is going to do the important and impressive part of hand quilting it for me too. I would do that with a machine but I dare not try with a needle and thread. I also don't think I would enjoy that very much anyway so I will leave that part up to the expert. I decided yesterday to get some flannel while we were at the fabric store together and make Lydia her own big rag quilt (big for her). It measures 50'' x 58''. It took me about 4hrs to cut and sew and another 3 hrs to cut the fabric so it would fray. I think it looks amazing, but I have a bias. I had a little help picking the fabric this time too. I am so excited for our little girl. I hope she comes soon.

Beautiful work...she will be spoiled rotten by her Daddy! That's fine with me though--all little girls deserve a good loving Daddy! (And you are perfect for that role!) I love you.

Wow, that is beautiful! What a lucky little girl. You know you better stop with all your amazing gifts, or we might just have to send our husbands your way for some training!!! NO I love Cody, and feel very blessed to have him. As Crystal is very blessed to have you. From her comment she already knows! You two are so good together, and make a perfect team. What a sweet family you have. I love making those blankets. It takes me a little longer, but I get it done. It feels so nice once your done, because you know all the hard work that went into it, and to know you did it for someone you love is that much better. She will love it! I can't wait to see her. Good job really I'm impressed!

Steve - you say that quilting isn't very manly but ask a woman if it's an attractive thing in a man and I think you'll find them all drooling. Who wouldn't want a man that acutally likes to do the same things as we woman do. VERY ATTRACTIVE STEVE!!

I think the quilt looks awesome and you are welcome to come here and use my new sewing room any time you want. It will give me an excuse to get down there. I find I don't go there enough and if someone comes over to sew I actually get work done too.

And how big are they going to let this baby get?? Its time don't you think?

Great work. The quilt is beautiful. (Don't tell anyone, but when we were dating, Rob made me a beautiful cross-stitched picture.)
