Did I mention I am an aunt for the umpteenth time? Yep, but the umpteenth time is still as sacred as the first!
I visited Miss Sophia an her Momma and Daddy in the hospital on the day of departure! I was holding the babe when the pediatrician walked into the room and saw two "beautiful" women standing together. He smirkly said, "which one of you is the Mom?" I laughed and my heart sunk...I quickly complimented the conversation with, "Well, she is but it looks like it should have been me!" He graciously, as he should have, told my sister that it doesn't look like she just had a baby. But believe me, it came with a cost. Pre-pregnancy half marathon training...weight training, all that lasting well into pregnancy with mid pregnancy dropping to 2 miles at least 5 days a week and a stellar, very baby friendly growing diet! She looks amazing, but what's even better about that is looking good truly does help you feel good and assist in a better and stronger recovery! This was day 2...I think they spent 30 hours there and desperately wanted home and Chloe again!
The proud parents of their angel!
Then, a few days later, we visited the family with our girls. The boys were so disappointed...they want to meet her so bad, but they were at school, and we wanted to make the first visit a little quiet!
She is in heaven...both of them, I assure you!
And these two, born 3 months apart...Maya was 3 months old when we moved to NM...showed us that they truly are kin cousins and just adore each other! Maya is a very loving child! She once stopped a little Native American babe her size in WalMart just to give her a hug...that looked exactly like this! About 10 seconds into the hug, Chloe said, "Okay, that's enough!" Priceless!
Pre-swaddling cries!
Funny faces!
Auntie time...note her auntie onsie above!
And definitely Lydia time....this visit was far more important to her than the park, she actually forgot about the park after the visit (thankfully, couldn't fit it in!).
While holding Sophia, she said, "Mommy, was I this little once?"
Don't get me started Miss Lydia...your entrance was the sweetest experience of my life!
