Happy Birthday Mom!

(Before reading...look at the post below for Connor's first Day of Kindergarten!)

Well here we go--it's a 21 week photo of the belly...getting big huh?!

And a close up!

Happy Birthday to Mom! I love Aiden's smile...I wish he would do that when we have his picture done professionally! And Connor...he cried earlier in the day because no one was coming to Mommy's Birthday party...my boys sure do take care of me! You can't walk away from this picture without noticing that the boys chose my favorite cake...Buzz Lightyear! I am most definitely a Mother of BOYS! But, did you happen to notice the pink plate to the left and the GIRL scrapbooking stickers to the right? Yep...IT'S A GIRL!!! We are thrilled to finally have a girl after three beautiful boys! Steve is already head over heels for her and I am planning all of the matching dresses we will wear...it will be funny!

I blew them all out...yes all 28...in one try. Steve picked up the candles that day thinking, "Yep, we need a box of candles!" When it came time to put them on, I said, "We are actually four short...one box doesn't cut it anymore!" The poor guy was just so busy all day that his brain was on auto...hang pictures, take boys to the store for a Birthday present, get cake, get candles! He needed me there to say, "Get two boxes...I'm getting OLD!"

I surely am blessed with such a good family to take care of me on my special day. Connor and Aiden chose this pretty turquoise necklace for me...I LOVE IT! It reminds me of NM....a taste of my YOUTH! :) I can't believe I have been away for 7 years now!

Kindergarten and the Tooth Fairy!

Officially a Kindergartener now! Wednesday was the first day of school for Connor, and it was just as emotional for me as my first day of kindergarten (I still remember crying 23 years ago!). Well, I was on a mission, a mission to determine the security of my big boy...and it worked!

I didn't know Connor's bus # today, so I called the company and found out what it was. I was told what time to be there, etc. You see, all I wanted to do was take him to school, but it was critical that I let him go on the first day because he was to have a babysitter on the second day of school and he would HAVE to ride the bus. How could I possibly leave my own child unprepared to ride the bus? So, the plan was set...he was riding the bus.

As he got on the bus, be stood at the back of the line--of atleast a dozen kids at the stop--looked back and blew me kisses and said, "Good bye Mommy, I love you!" He smiled...I cried. He sat in the back of the bus, alone and timid! As they drove away, I ran to the house with Steve and Aiden and we hopped into the car to spy on Connor at school. At the bus stop every child, except Connor, wore name tags that had all of their informaiton on it....name, teacher, school bus # coming in, and SCHOOL BUS # GOING OUT! My child was nameless at school...with a note, lovingly written by Mom in his bag that said, "Your school bus # is 136 Love, Mom". He was instructed to pull it out so he knew what bus to take home. I had throughouly confused my child with the wrong bus # and no name.

So, I spied on him, and I never saw him leave the bus....where did he go? I sent Steve inside to find him and find out what was happening because I was too afraid I would break down and cry in front of him. He went in and found nameless Connor with the staff, as they tried to figure out what was going on. Connor sat straight faced without making eye contact with Steve and got his name tag and a reassurance from the teacher that everything would be taken care of.

So, all is well for Connor's first day of school....he also lost his first tooth that night at dinner. What an eventful day for such a little growing guy! We had so much fun, and while I should have been studying for my Nursing Final I was to take the next day, I decided to put first things first and spend the day with my boys...we went out and had ice-cream, rode bikes, played at the park, and thrilled in the excitement of the tooth fairy that was to make her appearance in the wee hours of the night at our home! What a wonderful life!
